River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's tennis team wrapped up the 2007 season with a fourth-place finish at the 2007 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Tournament. The Stars' Bozana Durman (Berwyn, IL), the 2006 NAC #4 Singles Runner-Up, recorded Dominican's top finish at the tournament, finishing third as the Stars' #3 Singles competitor, falling to the eventual conference champion in a semifinals match. On the year, Durman posted a team-best 7-3 record in singles play, going 6-2 against her NAC opponents. Eileen Shanahan (New Lenox, IL), a conference champion as Dominican's #3 Singles competitor in 2006, finished fourth as the team's #2 Singles entry this year while Erika Corona (Berwyn, IL), the reigning NAC #6 Singles champion, finished sixth in the #6 Singles flight. In doubles competition, the Stars finished fourth in both the #2 Doubles and #3 Doubles flights. Julia Filipski (St. Charles, IL) and Molly Nolan (Shorewood, IL) fell in the #2 Doubles semifinals while Gina Cesario (Addison, IL) and Ivana Debro (Berwyn, IL) fell in the #3 Doubles semifinals. Overall the Stars finished the season with an 8-5 record in dual matches, posting their third winning record in four seasons under Head Coach Bob Greenwald. |
