Colleen Newhart takes over the Dominican University men's and women's cross country programs. A 2002 graduate of Loyola University Chicago, Newhart possesses over 15 years of running experience and has compiled an impressive running resume that includes being listed in the top 30 on the United States Top Times List for 1500 meters.

Newhart recently placed 17th at the AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and attained "B" standard for the U.S. Olympic trials in the 1500 meter event. In college, Newhart was selected to the Horizon League All-Conference Team for the Ramblers in 2001 and 2002 and was an All-Region selection in 2001 as she finished 21st individually, helping Loyola to a third place finish as a team.

A native of Oak Park, Newhart has been crowned the Female Champion at a number of local races, including the Golden Apple 5k, Rockford State Street Mile and the Ricky Byrdsong Race Against Hate.
