Rigoberto Barajas was a Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) All-Conference First Team selection in 2006 after transferring to Dominican University from Northern Illinois University for his sophomore season. Barajas started 22 games and appeared in 23 games for Dominican, tallying five goals and one assist on the season, including scoring the game-tying goal against Montclair State on November 18, 2006 in the third round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

At Morton East High School, Barajas was a four-time selection for the West Suburban Gold All-Conference Team as he helped Morton East to four conference championships in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
