River Forest, Ill. - Dominican University has entered an agreement with the Schaumburg Flyers, an independent baseball team in the Northern League, which will allow Dominican to call the Flyers' Alexian Field home for the Stars' 2008, 2009 and 2010 baseball seasons.

"It is an incredible opportunity for Dominican University, the student-athletes and the fans to have such a high quality facility as our home ballpark," commented Erick Baumann, director of athletics at Dominican. "It will certainly enhance the experience for all involved, and we look forward to all aspects of the partnership."

Under the agreement, the Stars will host every game of its 11-game home schedule at the Flyers' facility while the university will take advantage of the Flyers' marketing possibilities by purchasing signage along the facility's concourse as well as advertising in the Schaumburg Flyers' official program.

The Schaumburg Flyers will also provide Dominican's students with internship opportunities in all areas of day-to-day operations ranging from corporate sales and ticket sales to field management and turf management.

"We are really excited to give not only our players but visiting players a great baseball experience by playing in such a beautiful park," said Stars' head coach Terry Casey.

The Stars will open the season on March 1 in Fort Myers, Fla. against Thiel College. Dominican will open the season with 14 games on the road or at neutral sites before opening their home season on March 29 against neighborhood and conference rival Concordia University Chicago at Schaumburg's Alexian Field.
