(708) 524-6542 In just his third season as the head coach of the Dominican University baseball program, Terry Casey led the Stars to their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III National Tournament in 2006. In addition, under Casey the Stars have improved each season, posting the program's first-ever winning season in 2005, the program's first-ever 20-win season in 2006 and the first-ever back-to-back winning regular seasons (2005-2006). Since taking over the program after the 2003 season, Casey has coached four American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region players and 12 All-Conference players. As a team, the Stars won the baseball program's first-ever conference tournament as the Stars knocked off the Lake Michigan Conference's (LMC) top two teams to capture the 2006 LMC Tournament Championship and the conference's automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Division III National Tournament. A 1997 graduate of Dominican University, Casey was the school's first-ever four-year starter for baseball, serving as a captain for two years. Upon graduation, he served as an assistant coach for the baseball team for four years before inheriting the team as head coach. Casey's baseball background expands beyond Dominican University. Currently Casey serves as a hitting instructor at Line Drive Baseball Academy. Casey won two state titles and was the national runner-up once as the head coach for the Mount Greenwood Brewers, a baseball club team on Chicago's southside. Casey also coached for Swingtown in a wooden-bat summer league. In addition to his coaching duties at Dominican University, Casey also serves as Associate Director of Admission and coordinator for athletic recruitment for the university. |
